Once again, Jazz in the Gardens will be returning to St Mary Magdalene Church Gardens!
What is Jazz in the Gardens?
Our annual jazz events are free for the whole community.
Professional jazz bands will play on three consecutive Friday evenings
in July, and we love the opportunity to meet our neighbours!
When is it?
This year, Jazz in the Gardens will take place on Friday 4th, Friday 11th and Friday 18th July,
6.30pm - 8.30pm with a 20 minute interval.
Where is it?
St Mary Magdalene Church Gardens, Holloway Road, N7 8LT
If it rains, we always have a contingency plan - we take it inside the building!
Why is it happening?
Jazz in the Gardens has many benefits. Primarily it promotes positive community use of St Mary Magdalene gardens - which has unfortunately been known as a site for anti-social behaviour.
We know that music is a universal language that transcends social boundaries, and listening to music with others has been shown to foster a sense of community and connection. So providing access to free, live concerts is especially valuable here in Islington - a proudly diverse borough where people from all faiths, nationalities and backgrounds have made their homes.
We truly hope these events will bring people together, reduce loneliness, and promote positive physical and mental health - through dancing, conversation and song.

You! Bring your friends and a picnic, and enjoy some incredible live music.
