welcome to Hope Church
If you are new to Hope Church Islington, then you are so welcome.
Never been to church before? Don’t know what to expect? Just feel like trying out a new church?
We love new people and welcome everyone, regardless of whether you’ve never been to church before or have been a Christian for years. We’re a very diverse church and include people of every age (from babies to people in their 90s!) and every kind of background. Our weekly service is held at 11am at St Mary Magdalene Church on Holloway Road, we would love to have you join us too. Got any more questions, there is an FAQ below to help you plan your visit or contact us via email.
As well as Sunday services we run smaller mid-week groups which run throughout the week. We’ve found this is the best way of getting involved in the life of the church and getting to know people. Find out more about all community groups here!
If you’re new, we would love to get to know you better - please click the link below to fill in a Welcome form and one of our team will be in touch very soon.
FAqs
What time are your services?
We meet at 11am every Sunday at St Mary Magdalene Church, Holloway Road, London N7 8LT. The service lasts about 90 minutes.
Where do you meet, and how do I get there?
St Mary Magdalene Church, Holloway Road, London N7 8LT. The nearest station is Highbury & Islington.
What happens in a service?
We sing and worship together, there's a talk, time to pray, and we share Communion most weeks. Once a month (usually the first Sunday) we have an all-age "Community Hope" service, gathered around tables with breakfast-style food and activities for everyone.
Is there anything for my children?
Yes. During our Sunday service we have Godly Play for under-5s, Hope Kids for school years 1 to 6, and Hope Youth for ages 11 to 18. Find out more about what happens for our children and young people here.
What should I wear?
Come as you are - there's no dress code. You'll find people in all sorts.
Will I have to do, say or give anything?
No. You're very welcome simply to come and see. You can join in as much or as little as you like, and giving is never expected of visitors.
Is the building accessible? Do you offer BSL?
Yes, the building is accessible. We offer British Sign Language interpretation on some Sundays. Find out which Sundays have a BSL interpreter joining here in our calendar.
Is there coffee / a chance to meet people?
Yes - we serve tea, coffee and refreshments, so do say hello and meet our welcome team.
I'm new - how do I get connected?
We'd love to get to know you. Fill in our quick welcome form here and one of our team will be in touch. We also hold regular newcomer events where you can meet others and hear more about the church, and the best way to get to know people is to join one of our midweek community groups.
Who can I contact?
Email info@hopechurchislington.org or call 020 7607 2203. We'd be glad to help.
