Associate Vicar, Hope Church, Islington

Following an exciting new partnership between Hope Church and St Mary Islington, Hope Church is seeking an experienced leader to grow the congregation.

We are looking for someone who can collaborate with the Vicar, PCC and congregation to reach the thousands of people in the Highbury and Islington Area.

You will be:

• Passionate about new mission opportunities in Islington

• An inspiring, thoughtful and relatable preacher and teacher

• Experienced in helping individuals and groups grow in their discipleship

• A person of warmth and good humour, who is empathetic and kind

• Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider community

• Someone with a lively faith, rooted in prayer

• At home in the charismatic-evangelical tradition

Join our PCC?

Every year we refresh our PCC. Each May one third of our members reach the end of their term and step down. These places are then available to be filled at our APCM. We also often have casual vacancies which can be filled at any point during the year, so if you’re interested in getting involved you can always ask if there are places available.

Ministry Placements

We believe that God has a purpose and call for everyone; at Hope Church we try hard to help people follow that call. As part of this, we help train ordinands (trainee vicars) with St Mellitus College, youth workers with XLP, and have welcomed interns from the Bishop of Stepney, Moorlands College and Worship Central. We are always happy to talk to people about possible placements and internships - in any area of ministry! If you would like to find out more, please get in touch.
