Children’s and Families Worker (with optional additional responsibilities)

We are looking for a spirit filled, enthusiastic team player to build on the great foundations that have been laid, growing our work with children and families in ways that align with their skills and vision and leading our established volunteer team.

The Children and Families minister will be a key part of our team and for the right candidate we can add additional responsibilities for marketing and communication and/or youth work enablement and mid week engagement to the role with additional hours accordingly. 

Hope is a wonderful, welcoming church, open to new ideas and committed to bringing and being God’s hope for and with the people of Islington. We are diverse demographically and in our theological convictions but unite around a charismatic evangelical spirituality. 

We are at an exciting time, having recently formed a partnership with St Marys Islington enabling the churches and teams to have a greater impact as they work together. We are seeing new people join us every week and our church community is passionate about children being supported to follow Jesus.

Join our PCC?

Every year we refresh our PCC. Each May one third of our members reach the end of their term and step down. These places are then available to be filled at our APCM. We also often have casual vacancies which can be filled at any point during the year, so if you’re interested in getting involved you can always ask if there are places available.

Ministry Placements

We believe that God has a purpose and call for everyone; at Hope Church we try hard to help people follow that call. As part of this, we help train ordinands (trainee vicars) with St Mellitus College, youth workers with XLP, and have welcomed interns from the Bishop of Stepney, Moorlands College and Worship Central.
