Hope Church Islington’s Safeguarding Policy

 
 

At Hope, we believe that church should always be a safe place for all. Therefore, we are committed to our Safeguarding Policy that lies in accordance with the 2017 House of Bishop’s statement ‘Promoting a Safer Church’.

We are committed to the 6 points also highlighted by Bishop Sarah in the 2018 Diocesan Safeguarding Policy ‘Promoting a Safer Diocese’ :

  1. Promoting a safer environment and culture 

  2. Safely recruiting and supporting all those with responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults.

  3. Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation 

  4. Caring pastorally for victims/survivors or abuse and others affected persons.

  5. Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons

  6. Responding to those who may pose a present risk to others.

Each Person who works within this church community will agree to abide by this policy and the guidelines established by this church.
