We are currently looking for an Associate Vicar to join our staff team.

Job Title:

Associate Vicar – Hope Church Islington (HCI)

Confident, collaborative, entrepreneurial, mission-centred, generous and unafraid leader of incumbent calibre for a compassionate, creative, exciting Church.

We’re missional, charismatic and church-planting. Part of the HTB Network, our vision is to glorify God through the re-evangelisation of our area and city for the transformation of lives and society.

Based in the centre of Islington, we have two sites plus our new plant - the Nags Head Church Community, meeting in Costa Coffee.

We ascribe high value to team-working and team-building. Fully affirming of men and women in ministry, we strongly encourage vocations, lay and ordained. We celebrate and take pride in our diversity

We want everyone to develop confidence in their faith and be enabled to participate in every-member ministry: we sense that central to this are our small groups, strong pastoral relationships, a culture of invitation, and having fun together as we deepen our commitment to Jesus.

Our compassion is expressed practically across all ages and contexts through initiatives such as our Night Shelter, Spear and community initatives with older people.  We have an active children’s and youth ministry and see the growth of this as a vital part of our vision as a Church.

We’re praying for an ordained colleague of incumbent level calibre who will complement and enhance the leadership of HCI as we anticipate a season of growth and change over the next few years, confident enough to hold and develop the vision for mission that is central to our DNA.

Direct experience of leading teams and working collaboratively within the church and local contexts is key. A commitment to encouraging vocations and nurturing new leaders out of under-represented groups is essential.

Excellent accommodation available.

Enhanced safeguarding checks will be required.

By 10th May 2017: (a) detailed CV including reflection on past ministry experience and (b) a “My Vision for Mission” statement of up to 500 words.

We welcome further dialogue prior to application if you would like to find out more about us as a Church.
